Introducing The Wales
Carnegie Hill’s iconic landmark now offering two- to four- bedroom condominiums and one exceptional full-floor penthouse.
Designed and Reimagined by Cabinet Alberto Pinto.

Carnegie Hill’s Living Landmark

The Wales
Located one block from Central Park on the gentle rise of Carnegie Hill, The Wales has captured the elegance and distinction of this Upper East Side enclave for more than a century. Once a charming hotel attracting visitors from around the world, this distinguished landmark has been reimagined as a limited collection of gracious residences inspired by classic pre-war design.
Designed in 1899 by architect Louis Korn, The Wales’ well-preserved details on the neo-Renaissance façade exemplify his mastery of ornamentation. Cornices, quoins, and courses of brick and stone define each story, and richly carved pediments, scrolls, and keystone elements surround each window. A new entablature, created from Korn’s own design, restores the landmarked building’s original Italianate appearance.

Carnegie Hill’s
Living Landmark
The Wales’ distinctive interiors have been conceived by the award-winning design studio Cabinet Alberto Pinto. The Paris-based atelier earned renown for founder Alberto Pinto’s embrace of refined materials fused with rich textures and patterns. Trained at the prestigious École du Louvre, Pinto also possessed a passion for the eclectic and drew creative inspiration from his extensive world travels.
Today, the firm carries on Pinto’s aesthetic legacy with finely detailed interiors crafted for an elite clientele, including luxury yachts, royal palaces, and private jets.
At The Wales, Cabinet Alberto Pinto has perfectly harmonized the interiors of the reimagined residences with the building’s original exterior. Timeless designs for the lobby, kitchens, and baths pay homage to the façade’s rich intricacy with a palette of exquisite finishes, custom details, and ornate patterning.

Primary Baths
Primary baths offer a tranquil setting for relaxation and rejuvenation, surrounded by the timeless beauty of Italian stone. Luminous Bianco Carrara and Grigio Nicola marble intermingle to create a striking composition while a Bianco Carrara slab countertop and Art Deco-inspired fixtures offer an impressive focal point.
